Emily Laugesen

Emily is responsible for overseeing the Youth Series. She collaborates to select performances for the Youth Series, ensures that educators and youth advocates in East-Central Illinois receive information about this exhilarating program, produces StagePage and Teacher’s Guide materials, fills ticket orders, and reviews your feedback following each performance. Emily loves the contagious energy that children and youth bring to Krannert Center on performance days. She also assists with additional engagement  opportunities for youth at Krannert Center as well as inside local schools. Emily will greet you in the lobby as you arrive at Krannert Center and from the stage just before the performance begins.

Anni Poppen

Anni Poppen

Anni has been a Krannert Center graphic designer since February 2008 and enjoys the constant feeling of being backstage for the big performance. She designs all Youth Series materials, including the season brochure and the student StagePage and Teacher’s Guide for each event. Before landing the best job in town, she owned an award-winning local marketing company that she eventually mered with another firm, SURFACE 51. Anni feels that Champaign-Urbana has been an amazing home to cultivate her design world.

Iris Swanson
Iris Swanson

Iris Swanson has served as the Youth Series house manager for more than 10 years. She makes sure that all of our volunteer ushers are in their proper places at the appointed times and that they understand their tasks. The stage manager for each show contacts Iris on her handheld radio to let her know when the stage is ready and seating for the performance can begin. She keeps a vigilant eye on the seating process, making sure that it goes smoothly and safely. Iris stays in the theatre during the performance to provide quick assistance and prevent disturbances. A grandmother of five, Iris understands that our young patrons sometimes require special attention.
